A belter of a loop with stunning views, especially if you get to the top of Tai Cham Koi for late afternoon to catch the sun going down over the Ma On Shan range.

A relatively straight forward course, plenty of runnable sections, with the exception of a long, loose gravel decent from the peak. A couple of road sections to help boost up times if going for a quick one!

Start and finish at the Pak Tam Chung visitor centre car park and head along the road, through the gate and continue until the junction to Wong Shek/Hoi Ha. Take a left turn and continue until reaching the turning for Lok Wu country park trail on the right. Up the trail and follow the path to the right at the fork. Head up all the way until you reach the plateau.

Once up take the right hand turn leading to Tai Cham Koi summit, then straight over the other side for the rutted and scree lined downhill, coming out at the roundabout at the top of the reservoir hill.

Right turn, smashing it down the road hill for about 500m before turning left for the Sheung Yiu Country Trail. A short climb precedes a nice bit of runnable trail, eventually dropping down to meet the Pak Tam Chung Nature trail. Head right, past the folk museum, over the bridge, hang a right and boost it back along the road to the car park. If you time it right the kiosk may still be open for shit Siu Mai and cold Tsing Tao.
