SKAT Loops 2023

After The Event

A group of brave souls gathered in the morning darkness at the abandoned village in preparation for the inaugural loops. At 7.05am they set off on the initial loop in the clockwise direction.
All ten runners completed the initial loop within the time limit with the only mishap being a minor wrong turn by Cedric causing an extra 2km to his initial loop but he still came home strong.
Eight runners continued onto the second loop in the anti-clockwise direction, again with all coming in within the time limit.
Most runners stopped after the second loop because the BBQ started and beers began to flow. However Steve, Jim and Morgan, who had led from start to finish, set off and completed a third loop, again in the clockwise direction.
Many thanks to Abbey and Fritce who volunteered throughout the day to record loop times and help runners as they transitioned between loops. And thank you to all the family members who came and visited throughout the day to cheer people on and join in the afternoon BBQ.

The Social Part

Let’s face it, we all enjoy a good run as long as there is some food and beer at the end. So at 1200 we’ll start up the BBQ and have some cold drinks available.

For those of us that only complete 2 loops, we can sit back and enjoy the afternoon while encouraging the hard core runners as they go past!

It’s completely optional. $200 to help cover the costs.
